This internal Checklist helps you prepare before a family arrives, instead of reacting once challenges show up.
They get to share what helps them/their child feel safe, supported, and included—and you get to share the guidelines that make your ministry run smoothly.
- Avoids talking about sensitive info in front of their children and/or other people nearby.
- Prevents information gaps by prompting the details families may forget or overlook.
- It reduces guesswork and bad surprises by building trust quickly, and allows volunteers to respond with confidence and compassion.
Using this checklist communicates one clear message to families:
We see you, we’re ready for you, and you belong here.
